WAESOL offers four grants and awards:
- ESL Mini-Grant: This grant for $200 can be used to help organize an event that promotes understanding of ESL/Bilingual education among the general public.
- Tailor Made Development Grant: This grant for $250 is designed to meet specific professional development needs within Washington State in places where the need cannot be met locally due to lack of expertise or financial reasons.
- Conference Travel Grants: Any WAESOL member living more than 100 miles away from the Seattle area who is able to demonstrate financial need may apply for a $150 grant to help cover travel expenses relating to attending the WAESOL conference.
- Sally Wellman Award: Open to WAESOL members in good standing with at least five years of experience and be currently teaching in the field of ESOL (ESL, EFL, or ELL) at any level, K-12 through university (half-time is acceptable), the winner of this award receives a one-year WAESOL membership.
